Once again this is something I wrote down and forgot to write on here. We were in communications class and had a substitute with I wrote it. We were talking about romanticism. Though you can disregard all of what I just said,it doesn’t really matter much.

So we were talking about romanticism when Jason asked “Can you be rational about romance?”

This made me think. My first thought was “Romance isn’t rational” then laughed. I mean, in a sense it’s not. Love in and of itself is a very irrational thing. Putting somebody else before yourself, well its a very novel idea. Hence why Jesus was both loved and hated.

Secondly I thought “Well it’s not that romance can’t be approached rationally. It’s just that being irrational is romantic”

Now what do you think. I mean, I agree and don’t. Maybe it’s not that being irrational is romantic, but being rational definitely isn’t. Personally I’d like to ask all the girls who read this blog (pretty much all of you) is being irrational romantic? Is being rational romantic?

Ok so when I say irrational, what do you think of? That might be where the problem lies, not that there is a problem. See, when I read it just like that, “irrational”, I think stupid. Now we all know stupidity is not romantic, but being spur of the moment, and doing surprise things, now that is right?

So I guess it would be interesting to test these things. We can take 2 approaches. We can be rational about romance. Or irrational. Let’s see who has the better relationships, with each other, and with God.

Finally, 2 last questions; is God rational? And, is he romantic?

That’s right, expect the unexpected, and the unexpected is snow. YEAH! It’s now snowed twice in the past 2 weeks a new record for Vancouver. Ok not quite but still. Haha. It is more snow than normal, and let me tell you it works miracles.

Riley hugged me, and said he loved me. (He is also getting braces today, maybe he’s just afriad he is going to die?)
I got out of bed before 7am on what will probably be a non-school day.

ummmmm… I can’t think of anymore unexpected miracles this morning. I’ll look for them throughout the day. I’ll expect the unexpected. For now, I have to go play in the snow, at 7am. Yes that’s right. SEE YA!

Can evil exist in heaven?

No?

Well then how can we love God in heaven, if we can’t chose to sin?

Isn’t that basically us being forced?

If we aren’t presented with the oppurtunity to sin, then do we have free will?

If we don’t have free will, how can we chose to love God?

Can you sin without a demon influencing you?

Would Adam and Eve have sinned if the serpent hadn’t influenced them?

So can you do something wrong if you aren’t influenced to do it?

Is it wrong if you don’t know it is?
Just some thoughts from Small group last night. I don’t know if you’ll be able to answer them. I can only guess at some of the answers.

Yet another Dragon Picture. Say this knight wants to protect you at all costs. (Which he does) so what does he do. He locks you up and never lets you out. Now, yes you’re comfortable, you’ve got great living conditions and great food, but you still feel like a prisoner. So what happens? After a few years you are going to start thinking that this “knight” of yours is not so knightly. He is more like an evil warlord.

So this is yet another view I get of Jesus. People ask “why did you let this happen? Why did you make this happen?” He didn’t make it happen. He let it happen because he wants you to have free will. If you decided to take your horse into that forest that you have been warned against going into he is going to let you. He is not going to stop your free will.

God loves you and wants whats best for you. If you don’t realize that, and think there is more for you when you don’t follow God; well then you obviously don’t know God. No I’m not saying sit back and let life pass you by. By all means go jump off of waterfalls, dive into lakes, run through forests of green feeling the wind pass you by, rock climb up the tallest mountain, etc. God wants you to experience these things. But, if God says “Hey you better watch out for the trolls that live under the bridge over there” then you better listen. He isn’t trying to keep you locked up. He isn’t trying to prohibit you from doing something fun, he is just protecting you.

Final word, you often will get yourself into bad situations. I’ve done it, others have done it, you will do it if you haven’t yet. God wants to rescue you from that, but he doesn’t want you to have to be in that situation in the first place. God loves you, will protect you, will rescue you, will pursue you, and always wants what is best for you.
